Using large-scale, multi-disciplinary mobile clinics, we deliver optometry, audiology, primary healthcare, and oral healthcare services directly to schools and communities at large ensuring convenience, quality healthcare, provision of medical equipment and staff who sincerely care.

We are seeking a professional medical doctor who is patient centered and passionate about providing Primary Health Care in conjunction with the latest telemedicine technology. This opportunity allows for remote work- but passion is key because that has to transcend over a remote consultation! This position is for a qualified medical doctor, registered Health Professional Council of SA. Patients will be both children at schools and adults, whom will all be attended to within the mobile clinic.

The Doctor will be serving most of their hours remotely, using our telemedicine infrastructure. However, hours in office and on mobile health clinics are required. The doctor will work remotely with the attending nurse who is stationed on the Mobile Clinic to provide a holistic assessment and management of the patient that has been identified as needing a doctor’s care. This includes sending prescriptions, referrals, and providing an appropriate counselling.

Role Description

  • Be able to use telemedicine healthcare services and medical software.
  • Ensure referred patients are recorded accurately, including reasons for referral and where to, so a follow up can be done when needed.
  • Able to use the onboard software to capture all clinical findings and generate referrals during the field visit.
  • Ensure that each patient is treated in a friendly, professional manner always upholding the highest standards of the profession the individual must be respectful of cultural differences and treat each other as a valued individual.
  • Diagnose disease / problem.
  • Create treatment plans to maintain and promote health.
  • Administer medication if onsite a primary healthcare facility.
  • Provide prescriptions and referral letters.
  • Perform corrective medical interventions.
  • Report any malfunction of equipment immediately by reporting it to the operator or project manager.
  • Be able to actively problem solve software malfunction and promptly report it to the operator and IT specialist.
  • Submit at least one good news story / case summary per week on patient interaction and feedback.
